St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School

Our parish school cultivates leaders, fosters faith, develops minds for learning and hearts for serving, setting our students on the path to success. 

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School is the largest Catholic K-8 in Texas, and currently has 879 students enrolled for the 2022-2023 school year. Our graduates leave STA well-prepared and highly sought by selective area high schools, with a 5-year average of 85% attending Catholic high schools, with others attending DISD magnet schools and International Baccalaureate programs. Faith formation is incorporated through daily religion curriculum, weekly participation in the Liturgy, and student involvement in service opportunities.

Our school families are committed to STA, the students, and the community; our annual retention rate averages 95%, and our parent involvement is outstanding with numerous volunteer opportunities and community-building events.

Extracurricular activities for our students are numerous and wide-ranging: Diocesan athletic teams are available in 11 sports, and non-athletic activities such as Boy and Girl Scouts, Chess, Speech and Drama, multiple choirs, the annual School Musical, broadcast journalism, PSIA academic competitions, National Junior Honor Society, Student Council, and band giving students a wide variety of experiences to explore.

Safety:
Updates to both campuses to help with health and safety including:
Adding more cameras inside and outside
Reconfiguring the entrance at the Upper School
Adding more security for special events and school-wide programs
Updating the nurses' offices on both campuses

Technology:
Upgraded 1:1 devices for all 879 students
Add additional access points at Upper School and Lower School

Fine Arts:
Update lighting and sound panel in Upper School drama room
Costumes and licensing for the school musical
Materials expenses for visual arts

Athletics:
Gymnasium scoreboard replacement
Gym bleachers replacement
Uniform replacements - a variety of sports
Equipment replacement - a variety of sports
