CommonGood Medical: A Place to Belong

At CommonGood Medical, we believe every person deserves to be seen, known, and cared for, regardless of income or insurance status. We are a trusted, faith-based clinic serving uninsured adults in Collin County, soon expanding to pediatric care in August. Our team offers care that meets physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, showing compassion and excellence in every interaction.

The Need
In Collin County, 110,000 hardworking neighbors fall into the healthcare gap, unable to afford insurance, yet ineligible for Medicaid. Without access to preventive care, many carry silent burdens of pain, chronic illness, or untreated conditions that quietly shape their daily lives.

Our Response
Recently, one of our patients finished her appointment, and as she was checking out, we asked how everything went. She smiled and said, “It was good, very good! I didn’t think I could feel like this again. I’ve been battling depression and had given up. I thought this is just how life was supposed to be. I stopped trying. And then I found you. It’s so wonderful! The only thing bothering me today is a cold.” This is what we strive to offer all of our patients by providing a true medical home to more than 1,000 patients each year, offering comprehensive primary care, including chronic disease management, optometry, mental health counseling, well-woman care, lab work, and access to affordable prescriptions. With a team of licensed medical professionals and dedicated volunteers, we ensure every patient is met with dignity and respect.

Our Impact
In 2024, we provided over 4,200 patient visits and welcomed nearly 500 new patients. Since opening in 2017, we’ve delivered more than 13,000 appointments, helping our neighbors reclaim their health, confidence, and hope for the future.

Our Values
Dignity. Compassion. Whole-person care. Faith in action. We are woven together by a shared commitment to make Collin County a place where everyone belongs.

Our Invitation
Join us. Give. Volunteer. Share the story. That’s what sets us apart. We don’t just treat symptoms; we restore hope. We’re not just a clinic; we’re a community-wide care network. Together, we are the threads that make our community whole.

Every gift makes an impact:

  • $1,300 covers a full year of care for one patient

  • $108 a month provides 1 patient's care for an entire year

  • $500 a month provides an entire year of medical care for a family of four

Giving Activity

Mission

CommonGood Medical exists to share the love of Christ by partnering with our community to provide free, quality, compassionate health care to our medically underserved neighbors.

Needs

Besides consistent financial and in-kind support, CommonGood Medical is built on a volunteer model requiring the generous donation of time and talents from not only medical professionals, but also Interpreters, Christian Patient Advocates, Front Desk Support Staff, and many others. These volunteers are crucial to providing all that is needed for our patients. Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to review our Volunteer Information and submit an interest form (www.CommonGoodMedical.org) to learn more!

In addition, CommonGood Medical appreciates being the recipient of clinic supply drives hosted by community organizations, businesses, churches and individuals. We offer a "Wall of Fun" to our patients, for them to choose whatever personal hygiene necessities needed at the time of their appointment. We also need a variety of medical supplies to use in treating patients. You can find our wish lists on our website donate page.

And finally, many businesses, organizations, churches and individuals assist us in thanking our 100+ volunteers by providing meals, snacks or other gifts of appreciation.

Equity Statement

CommonGood Medical is founded upon living out the gospel of Christ and offering quality health care to our most economically vulnerable neighbors while seeking a culture of diversity, belonging, and self-reflection.

Since 2017, it has been our goal to be centered on Christ, recognized by our love for one another and for our most vulnerable neighbors. Our clinic has embraced a set of Biblical values that provide a foundation and continued guidance towards our mission. We are dedicated to being a unified, not uniformed community -- characterized by mutual respect and committed to love, justice, humility, and a genuine desire to glorify God. We have seen first-hand the disparate realities that marginalized groups of people, all loved by God, experience.

We believe that:

• All are image-bearers of God.

• All are equally valued and loved by Him.

• All have a role in serving God’s purposes and reflecting His magnificent kingdom.

We encourage all working or volunteering in our clinic to:

• Address systems, structures and cultural norms that have contributed to oppression by building genuine community through the power of the Holy Spirit.

• Love our neighbors as ourselves by being vigilant in identifying and addressing systemic inequities in our clinic in honest and restorative ways.

• Acknowledge the suffering of all oppressed, marginalized, and minimalized and by doing so, allowing the things that break God’s heart to break ours.

• Elevate the contributions of under-represented minorities and people of color by creating environments that solicit and encourage the perspectives, insights, and cultural contributions of all, as image bearers of God.

• Give preference to others above ourselves, listening and empathizing in humility, not thinking of one’s self more highly than another.

• Actively seeking honest, transparent relationships with people different than ourselves, and that ultimately reflect God’s kingdom.

We commit, as an organization to:

• Attract and develop a diverse and talented Board, Staff, and Volunteers.

• Proactively engage all staff in learning by providing opportunities that address unconscious biases and encourage self-reflection.
