Operation Community Outreach

A nonprofit organization

We began with a vision of really working together with local non-profits so that we were not duplicating efforts and so that our dollars could stretch farther into the community. It has been a struggle, but we are finally getting other organizations to work WITH us on several initiatives. We reach out to local churches for help and support as well as businesses and individuals in the community.

We have built a trusting relationship with the school district and the school counselors which is a win-win for all of us. They call on us if they have a need they cannot fill and trust that we will call upon all of our resources to help. It's a great partnership that we hope will only continue to grow.

As a result of this relationship, we began a new initiative, H.O.M.E. (helping others through mutual efforts) that has identified a family that is ready to journey with us from homelessness to Shelter, food, clothing, financial security. So far we are 2 months in and have joined with the community to secure housing, assist with food and household necessities and will go with the family through financial counseling!

One of programs that we support with financial assistance (fundraiser) and volunteers is THE REINDEER PROJECT which is run by a local church but is a whole community effort. We have helped secure food, clothing, toys, household items and other resources for over 1200 children throughout the 3 city school district. This program served 50 children it's first year in 2001. They expect to maintain that 1200 child total until we can secure a warehouse and/or distribution center we can all work from all year long.
