Notre Dame School serves as a unique educational resource in the Dallas area. Since 1963, NDS has been the only independent school exclusively devoted to educating students with developmental disabilities. Over the years, NDS has trained hundreds of young people with disabilities to be contributing members of our community. Because of the specialized nature of a Notre Dame education, students come from 78 different zip codes across North Texas to attend Notre Dame School. The school curriculum covers academics, daily living skills training and vocational training. Notre Dame serves 150 students ages 6 to 22.

Our Needs

The tuition charged at Notre Dame School covers only half of the cost of the individualized program. Therefore, each year half of the operating budget must be raised from organizations and individuals in the community who believe in our mission and wish to support Notre Dame School. Our greatest need is funding to help bridge this substantial gap.

Giving Activity

Mission

Notre Dame School, recognizing that each person is created in the image of God, educates students with developmental disabilities and facilitates their integration into society.

Needs

Notre Dame School educates 150 students with developmental disabilities in small classrooms with 10 students and 2 teachers. We offer this specialized education for half of what it actually costs to educate students with individual education plans. Therefore we must raise over $2 million to support our operating budget. Our biggest need is unrestricted funding to support our budget.
