Since our inception 10 years ago, NT Patriot Anglers has taken over 3,000 veterans dealing with PTSD and TBI's on group fly fishing outings. This provides a relaxing, quiet, healing get-away for the veterans to regroup, talk, and regain strength lost during their service to our country. There is great satisfaction receiving a letter from a spouse, father, mother, or child stating their gratitude for returning their family member to them. The healing process that our simple program brings cannot be adequately explained other than to say that it works wonders.
Our mission is to provide mentorship and support to U.S. military, veterans, and first responders whose service to our country has left them challenged physically and/or psychologically. Through one-on-one guided fly-fishing outings, we attempt to increase their well-being, renew their sense of camaraderie, and enhance their desire to move forward with their healing process.
Our Needs
We at Patriot Anglers are excited to be in our 10th year of operation. Beginning with a dream, $5000.00 and one fly rod we have now taken over 3200 different wounded/sick veterans fly fishing. With an estimated 250,000-750,000 veterans in North Texas we have much more work to do. Our goals are lofty and so are our needs. Items that would enhance the healing ability and growth of our program. Our needs are: (1) 5 weight fly rods and reels to update and outfit our veterans, (2) 3 or four large Yeti-style coolers, (3) a large portable propane grill/griddle for food prep.

As a Veteran Initiative Program we know that every individual we serve identifies as a Marine, Airman, Sailor, Soldier or Coast Guardsman but we also understand that every participant is an individual, a human being with unique perspectives and views of the world in which we live. It is our goal to be inclusive in all we do, all we say and in the way we serve each individual.
