North East Emergency Distribution has been an important and vital resource for many families and individuals in Northeast Tarrant County for over 35 years.  North East Emergency Distribution (N.E.E.D.) is a Northeast Tarrant County faith-based non-profit organization whose sole mission is to provide short-term emergency assistance with food, clothing, TXU payments and bus vouchers. N.E.E.D. serves the poor in our service area at two sites: NEED West at 5028 West Broadway Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76117, and NEED East at 424 West Bedford Euless Road, Hurst, Texas 76053. Our target service area is composed of 13 zip codes which are 76021, 76022, 76039, 76040, 76053, 76054, 76111, 76117, 76118, 76180, 76137, 76182, 76148.

As a 501(c)3, incorporated in 1985, we have consistently served our service area with emergency food assistance.  In 2023, we served 3,760 unduplicated children and their families with emergency food assistance. N.E.E.D.’s total number of unduplicated units of emergency services as listed previously totaled 19.601 during 2023.   Further, N.E.E.D. relies on support from a variety of funding streams and have been blessed by the support of area churches, individuals, businesses, grants and proceeds from our Twice Blessed ReSale Shop, located next door to N.E.E.D. East, in Hurst, Texas.  We have also been fortunate to receive funds from the North Texas Giving Day.  N.E.E.D. appreciates its faith-based support and that of our volunteers and who are passionate  about their work with us.  Over 90% of our volunteers come from Northeast Tarrant County churches.



Mission

North East Emergency Distribution (NEED) is a Northeast Tarrant County faith-based non-profit organization whose sole mission is to provide short-term emergency assistance of food, clothing and financial support.

Needs

Our needs include monetary donations for food and operating expenses that will assist us in supporting our three sites that are available to those needing food, clothing, TXU assistance, transportation passes, and referrals to other community area services for children, families, and seniors, so to serve an estimated 9,000 households till the end of this year and into 2024.
