$15,000 Goal

Rescuing cats from local animal shelters, spaying and neutering each before they are adopted, reduces the number of unwanted cats in our community. The result is there are less sick, injured and abused cats which is our ultimate goal.

Our Needs

NBCR relies heavily on monetary donations from the general public and charitable giving organizations in order to carry out our mission to help find homes and provide medical care and sterilization for animals in need. Although adoption fees help offset the cost of our expenses, we rarely break even when an animal is adopted. NBCR is a non-profit, 100% volunteer-run organization. We are fortunate enough to have an adoption venue to house a few animals (maintained solely by our volunteers) we do not have a physical shelter to house our animals and we rely on our volunteers to foster the animals in our care at their homes.

We provide age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, flea and deworming medication, antibiotics and any additional medical care including boarding (if necessary) to the animals in our care. We also provide supplies like food and litter to our volunteer foster homes. We help with local Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) efforts to help offset the pet-overpopulation epidemic and assist low-income families with low-cost medical care for their pets, including sterilization efforts.

Most of the medical care our animals receive is through partnerships with local area veterinary clinics who offer rescue discounts to our organization. Throughout the past 15 years we have been working with local animal shelters helping to reduce euthanasia rates, these veterinary clinics go above and beyond to assist our animals by not only providing low cost pricing but will also see our animals in emergency situations when available on weekends, after hours, and on holidays. Partnering with these veterinary clinics allows us to stretch our dollars further in situations which might normally be considered unaffordable.

In addition to monetary donations, we have multiple volunteer opportunities available in the North Garland area at any given time.

Mission

With respect and compassion for all cats, New Beginnings Cat Rescue NBCR promotes lifelong relationships between people and animals, providing foster care for each precious life until adopted into a good home. We strive to work with animal control and other rescue groups to save homeless cats in our community.
