Moving Forward Dallas

A nonprofit organization

This program aims to directly benefit young artists ranging from 12-22 years old. Every workshop ranges from 50-200 attendees. The program originated in Dallas, Texas and is now traveling to other parts of the South, with an event already planned in Tulsa, Oklahoma for Fall of 2019. We do outreach events at facilities such as Dallas Children's Hospital and Embrace Texas Foster program. Furthermore, this summer, Moving Forward awarded two college scholarships to workshop participants, providing them with funding to pursue higher education in the arts.
Moving Forward is not only a great way to impact children in need, but to also give high school and college students an outreach program in which to enrich their skills and personal wellbeing.

Mission

Moving Forward Dallas (MFD) strives to empower young artists and equip them with the skills they need to succeed in today's artistic world. Through quarterly dance workshops (known as "intensives") MFD gives dancers access to affordable dance teaching that is often otherwise unattainable. The physical, mental, social and artistic benefits of dance are well-documented, and it is those benefits that we seek to give to all students, regardless of their economic standing. Thus far, MFD has served 300 young dancers in their missions to hone their craft, curate physical and mental fitness, and launch a career in the arts.
