PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Mental Health Services is the longest tenured program of Momentous Institute. Programming includes individual and family therapy, treatment groups, assessments and parent education. 2022 outcomes include:
o 90% of caregivers participating in parent education significantly improved their parenting practices. At Momentous Institute, we focus on strengthening families because we know that improving parent-child relationships highly correlates with a child's social emotional health.
o 88% of children and families who completed therapy report continued well-being approximately six months after leaving therapy services.
o By the age of 17, 48% of children have faced one or more adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) such as physical, sexual, or verbal abuse; substance abuse or violence in the home; or losing a parent to divorce or separation. The more ACEs a child experiences, the higher the likelihood that they will face serious mental and physical health problems later in life.
MOMENTOUS SCHOOL
Momentous School, established in 1997, is a laboratory school in Oak Cliff that serves 248 children three years of age through fifth grade with a rigorous social emotional health and academic curriculum. Outcomes include:
o 100% of Momentous School alumni have graduated high school on time versus 84% of comparable peers in the state of Texas.
o 89% of Momentous School graduates enroll in higher education and are 3 times more likely to receive a bachelor’s degree as compared to similar peers.
o Educators collaborated with 572 students, parents, and alumni last year.
TRAINING AND RESEARCH
Training and Research is conducted to ensure the broad dissemination of our education and mental health practices, with a focus on building skills and knowledge to integrate our trauma-sensitive strategies into the existing system.

o Our first virtual Changing the Odds Conference focused on a theme of Flourishing and welcomed 922 attendees.
o More than 50,000 professionals have participated in training on the critical importance of social emotional health, taught by mental health and education professionals.
