Collin County seniors need you now more than ever. There has been such great need since the pandemic, and the older adult population is growing fast! Last year, Meals on Wheels Collin County delivered more than 400,000 meals to a total of 2,200 disabled and older adults throughout Collin County. This year, we are on track to more than 450,000 meals. We need your help to serve meals to more than 1,500 seniors every day.
But it's more than just a meal. Each meal is prepared in our onsite kitchen by certified food safety staff according to menus designed by a licensed dietitian. Every single meal provides vital nutrition to help maintain bone density, muscle mass, and cognitive functioning. When trained volunteers deliver these meals, they are able to make sure the client is safe and/or report any health or safety concerns to our staff for immediate follow-up. Our staff can then send emergency supplies (i.e. canes, walkers, wheelchairs, incontinence supplies, pet food, paper goods, etc.) or make service referrals to help keep that senior healthy and independent.
95% of our clients report an improvement in health after just one year in the program.
2 out of 3 clients see a reduction in emergency hospital visits.
We can feed one senior for an entire year at the same cost as just one day in the hospital, making this a worthwhile investment.

Meals on Wheels Collin County's mission is to combat hunger and isolation in disabled and older adults by providing nutritious meals enabling them to remain healthy and independent within their families, homes, and communities.

Meals on Wheels Collin County (MOWCC) does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, or gender/sexual orientation. While we do focus on serving older adults, we can also serve any adult of any age who is disabled and homebound.
