Julia's Center for Healthcare

Julia’s Center for Healthcare is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that opened its doors in 2016 to support the working poor and uninsured adult residents of Plano and Collin County in meeting their chronic healthcare needs. Access to affordable healthcare for adults in Collin County is limited, and in many cases simply out of reach.

The Center is open every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., allowing patients to keep their appointments without missing work—an often difficult choice between providing for their families and caring for their own health.

Julia’s Center is a free clinic staffed entirely by volunteer providers, nurses, medical assistants, and non-clinical team members who support our patients’ healthcare needs. In 2025, the Center gladly served 1,525 patient visits valued at $812,186, made possible by 130 volunteers who contributed 8,073 hours. In the first half of 2026 alone, we completed 809 patient visits, ordered 1,819 labs, and processed 51 imaging requests valued at $461,298. Demand continues to grow, and the need remains great—Collin County has no county hospital to serve uninsured, low-income residents who lack access to affordable care.

By caring for uninsured residents in our community, we help reduce the financial burden on local hospitals, emergency services, and other resources that would otherwise absorb the costs of preventable emergency-room visits and prolonged hospital stays that patients cannot afford.

Our Needs

Your gift on North Texas Giving Day will directly support the essential care we provide to uninsured and underserved adults in Collin County. Every dollar helps keep our free clinic open and fully equipped to serve those who have nowhere else to turn.

Funds raised will be used to purchase:

• Diabetic supplies – Glucose meters, test strips, lancets, and related items that help patients manage diabetes and avoid life-threatening complications
• Lab studies – Critical diagnostic testing that guides treatment decisions and catches health issues early
• Imaging requests – X-rays, ultrasounds, and other imaging needed for accurate diagnosis and ongoing care
• Patient education materials and resources – Tools that empower patients to better understand and manage their chronic conditions
• Point-of-care testing supplies – Immediate in-clinic tests that allow providers to make timely treatment decisions during evening appointments
• Clinic equipment and supplies – Everyday medical items that keep our exam rooms ready and our care high-quality
• Office supplies – The behind-the-scenes materials that keep patient records, scheduling, and operations running smoothly
• Rent and utilities – The basic costs of keeping our doors open every Tuesday and Thursday evening so working patients can receive care without missing work
