HOPE Literacy, Inc.

In 2025 alone, roughly 50,000 international immigrants arrived in the DFW Metroplex (US Census Bureau estimates).  For newcomers, learning the English language means whether or not they can get a job, communicating with their child’s teacher, or simply completing everyday tasks.

This creates a great opportunity for the Church to be the hands and feet of Jesus.  We provide training, financial resources, curriculum, coaching, fellowship, and collaboration opportunities for our ESL sites.Since our beginnings in 1997, thousands of students from all corners of the world have learned English, found community and support, and most importantly, have heard the message of the transforming love of the Savior through HOPE Literacy’s programs.

Here's what we accomplished this year alone:

17 active sites, with 12 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area

1233 total students enrolled

267 volunteers activated (for a value of an estimated $313,331 of English instruction)

1 English institute Nicaragua

1 New program in Argentina

We've been especially excited about what God has done at our program at the Prairieland Detention Center this year.  We enrolled 132 students with more than 300 awaiting more volunteers to serve.  An estimated 100 prayed to receive Christ through an event in collaboration with local ministries.

You can help mobilize more churches.  We are actively working on new HOPE site starts in the DFW Metroplex.  Our $1,000 Start up grants help a new site to purchase curriculum and class resources.  We need $120,000 to fulfill our yearly operating budget.
