As a Non-profit organization, Fresh Start Mentoring facilitates life elevating educationally elevated skills to improve self-esteem.

The Mentoring Program is inclusive of supportive interventions such as; grief and loss counseling, crisis intervention, academic support, social skills, performance monitoring, and a behavioral component to encourage and to support the academic achievement of at-risk children and strengthen Parent-child relationships.

Increased numbers of children experience failure in academic and social areas because of deficits in reasoning skills. (Report of the Surgeon General - 2007)

Early intervention is the key. Our program works with the legal system to meet the needs of the at-risk population.

The program has a life skills segment that includes:
1. Mentoring for adults and children
2. Technology Training
3. Parenting Classes
4. Grief and loss counseling
5. Substance Abuse / Education

•    Through our Fresh Start Mentoring Program- This year we have served over 5856 clients.

•    Offered free GED tutoring 

•    Mentoring and Coping Skills classes for Adolescents through our partnership with the City of Arlington. 

•     Mentoring and Coping Skills classes for the Domestic Violence Court with the City of Arlington.

•    Drug and Alcohol Classes through our partnership with the State of Texas.

•    BWC certified as a Clinical Training Institution for LCDC Interns. 


Our Needs

Expand the awareness and extend support to this at-risk population through monetary aid and overall participation in our programs within this community.

Our objectives are:
-Provide training that redirects behavioral problems.
-Provide early-intervention programs that will reduce crime rates.
-Provide training to strengthen personal, social and financial skills.
-Provide programs that focus on emotions.
-Provide relationship programs for families, the workplace and other social settings.
-Provide education to reduce stress and child abuse.

Tools and Resources to help educate families and individuals prepare for life through GED testing, Coping skills, and educational resources. Helping to reduce domestic and family violence through teaching live skills and coping skills.
