We fulfill our mission through two avenues: (1) our two free chamber music concert series, and (2) through free music education programs in Dallas public schools.

** We strive to break down any barriers that would prevent North Texans from enjoying and benefiting from classical music. **

Concerts: We produce the Bancroft Family Concert series: free, family-friendly chamber music performances at the DMA (monthly, Oct. - May, excluding Dec.); and the annual Basically Beethoven Festival (weekly, Sunday afternoons in July). Our concerts are free and open to the public. We never charge for admission, but we pay the top-notch professional musicians who play for our audiences. Our concerts are held in the Dallas Arts District, which is easily accessible by public transportation.

**Music education is shown to measurably improve students' cognitive abilities and academic performance. We are dedicated to Dallas students and their well-being.**

Education Programs-Music Residency: FACP runs Music Residencies at three Dallas ISD high schools (David W. Carter High School, Wilmer-Hutchins HS, and Townview Magnet) and at Uplift Peak Preparatory Academy. For the DISD programs, we hire Teaching Artists (professional musicians who teach) to provide free private voice lessons (at Carter we offer piano, too) to students who otherwise would not be able to afford instruction. The program at Peak is a Violin Residency: we hire Teaching Artists to lead after-school violin class for 4th - 8th grade students who apply for the program. Our violin club is the only music education on campus and the lessons are free for participating families.

Education Programs-Performance Troupes: FACP also facilitates two different performance programs, Dream Collectors and Music A - Z. These professional musicians and performers use music to provide original, cross-curricular musical programs to DISD pre-K and lower elementary students. Their programs are customized with grade-appropriate curriculum in compliance with State of Texas mandated TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills).
$5,000.00 provided by Anonymous Foundation
We have received a challenge grant from a generous foundation that wishes to remain anonymous. Once we raise $5,000 for our Music Residencies at Wilmer-Hutchins High School and Townview Magnet Center, the foundation will match that with an additional $5,000 for the programs. Our initial #NTxGivingDay gifts will go toward that matching challenge. Remaining funds received through #NTxGivingDay will support our entire organization! Thank you for helping us meet this challenge.
