Embrace identifies gaps in the foster care system that put children at risk, and develop innovative solutions that keep children safe and families whole. Our recruitment efforts have made incredible progress in resolving the crisis-level shortage of foster and adoptive parents in our community. Neglected and abused children who were once left sleeping overnight in CPS offices waiting for placement can now stay at Embrace's "Collin House" in McKinney. Additionally, families involved in our foster parent retention programs (support groups, training, and respite) foster 400% longer than the state average. Embrace works with teens "aging-out" of foster care by connecting them with local resources and tools to maintain a comfortable, clean, safe home.

Giving Activity

Mission

At Embrace, our mission is connecting willing hands with opportunities to serve children in foster, adoptive, and kinship care. For over a decade, Embrace has provided life changing programs and resources to vulnerable children and their caregivers. Our services are provided at no cost to the families we serve thanks to the generosity of our community, partner churches, and the many volunteers who give their time and talent to improve the lives of children. By partnering with Embrace you're helping children lingering in the foster care system find the love and stability of a forever family. You're ministering to foster parents through respite care, support groups and valuable training. You're supporting teens who "age-out" of foster care without an adoptive family. When you volunteer or give to Embrace, you're making a difference.

If you are a foster parent, adoptive parent, kinship care provider or foster alumni, it is our joy to serve you & your family. Embrace programs and resources are open to families from all child placing agencies. If you are in need of services and live outside the DFW area (DFPS Region 3), we are happy to connect you with one of our partner non-profit organizations in your region or state, or help you launch similar efforts in your area.

Needs

1. We need a SMART board. We are currently using a TV as a monitor for hosting virtual meetings which is less than ideal. We also need the ability to "capture" our brainstorming sessions on a white board, and would love to save those electronically.

2. It's a big ask--we could really use a golf cart! Our proximity to downtown McKinney would make a golf cart very easy and economical for picking up supplies and donations for Embrace events.

If you feel led to contribute one of these items, please call/text Amber at 972-768-8162 or email amber@embrace-texas.org. Thank you!
