$5,000 Goal

Denton High Cares is here to help members of the Denton High School Family when they need a hand. In times of sudden medical or other crises where there is nowhere else to turn, we want to be there, by paying medical bills, car payments, rent, mortgage, utilities, or other bills. To make it possible for us to do this, we host or sponsor fundraisers throughout the year and we accept donations anytime.

Since our formation in August 2014, Denton High Cares has awarded over $120,000 in grants to members of the Denton High School Family. Through our application process we asses each need and determine qualified grants to help those in most need. We have given grants for all needs including groceries, utility bills, car payments, rent and mortgage payments, travel expenses related to receiving medical treatment, and more.

Additionally, we have launched our Scholarship Program for Denton High Students to continue to support their higher education.

Mission

To provide financial or other assistance to members of the Denton High School family (current and former students, faculty, staff, and their families) in times of medical or other crises.

Needs

We are led by a volunteer board of directors and do not have any general or administrative expenses. The vast majority of funds raised will be applied to grants to applicants, while a small portion will be used to pay expenses for fundraising events. The more we raise, the more we can give!

Equity Statement

Our grants are given as an equal opportunity to all and we do not discriminate against any individual, employee, applicant, volunteer or client on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or status with regard to public assistance.
