Dallas Metro

A nonprofit organization

Since 1988, the staff and volunteers of Dallas Metro has worked in many of the most most impoverished communities of Dallas. Through after-school programs, youth mentoring, and provision for physical needs, we strive to change the course of young people's lives. During the school year, we have after-school programs in 14 neighborhoods, focusing on teaching ethics, morals, and values to elementary aged children. As the children age out of the program, we have a youth program, specifically designed to engage at-risk youth. One of the greatest challenges in the city is food insecurity. Through partnerships with local vendors, we are able to provide staple foods, as well as assist in emergency situations. During the holiday seasons, we distribute over 500 boxes of food and turkeys, as well as over 3000 stockings filled with toys and candy. Each year, we take 300 children to summer camp. The programs of Dallas Metro have made a lasting difference in the lives of thousands of children over the decades.
