Dallas Urban Debate Alliance
To provide every Dallas ISD student the opportunity to participate in rigorous academic policy debate. Every student deserves the chance to become an articulate and informed leader in his or her school and community.
The Dallas Urban Debate Alliance (DUDA) operates a full policy debate program for the Dallas Independent School District. Policy debate involves teams of students who advocate for and against a resolution that calls for a U.S. Federal Government policy change. We currently serve 1,000 middle and high school students. Debate provides an academically rigorous opportunity for students to develop critical thinking skills, gain confidence in public speaking, and to learn to thoroughly conduct research. Studies show that the skills and knowledge gained through participation in debate increases a student's overall academic performance.
