Our mission is to promote and provide the resources, education and programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals in Dallas, TX. We focus on:
* Rescuing healthy and treatable pets at Dallas Animal Services (DAS) at the greatest risk of being euthanized
* Reducing owner surrender through our Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) program, and
* Opening DAS kennel space by transporting pets to partners in the U.S. and Canada in need of adoptable animals

"What I enjoy the most about fostering is watching some of the resilient and forgiving creatures on the planet have a second chance at life. It's heartbreaking to see that someone had given up or could not provide the quality of life these animals deserve. Having the means to open our home and treat these animals like our own until we find them their loving, forever home is truly fulfilling."
-Kyle Hines, Foster
"Our adoption process was very easy. Because of one of my other dog's autoimmune disease, we worked closely with Luna's foster mom to make sure it would be safe to introduce her to my pack. I appreciate the care and willingness of her foster mom, your organization, and veterinarian to work with our special circumstance."
-Brandi Harris, Adopter
"Dallas Pets Alive! allows me to combine my love of volunteering and my love of dogs (and cats and pigs and chickens.) It feels good to know that I am, in my small way, making a difference."
-Meghan Dunshee, Volunteer
"Being part of saving an animal's life is very rewarding and I love giving them a second chance to build trust and learn that there are good & kind people in the world. Opening your home and/or your heart is a risk. All of us are learning as we go…it's okay to ask for help and know that you are not alone in the emotions you will feel and challenges you will face."
- Julie Zvara, DPA Foster
"I support DPA because they introduced me to my best friend, Rosie, the first dog I've ever owned. As an incredibly well-run organization, I know they have the drive, passion, dedication and teamwork to help find loving homes for countless animals that make wonderful companions."
