Since 1943, the Community Council has worked to successfully to identify needs and develop innovative program solutions to enhance quality of life for all people. By connecting North Texans to information and resources, removing barriers and offering tools to actually transition people out of poverty, and providing care and services for older adults and caregivers, plus health and wellness education - all free, Community Council makes meaningful and transformational differences in the lives of thousands with the goal of an equitable and thriving community.

2-1-1 INFORMATION & REFERRAL SERVICES Anywhere in Texas, anyone can call 2-1-1 at anytime for free information and referrals to health and human services agencies, nonprofit and faith-based organizations, disaster relief resources, and volunteer opportunities.

ECONOMIC MOBILITY The poverty alleviation program transitions individuals and families into financial stability and living wage employment through a multi-faceted approach with emergency financial support and case-managed workforce development program with wrap-around services.

DALLAS AREA AGENCY ON AGING To increase independence and overall health, Dallas County residents age 60+ receive easy access to a comprehensive, integrated system of information, chore and care assistance, minor home repairs, legal services, health maintenance, benefits counseling, respite care, and transportation.

COMMUNITY WELLNESS Free evidence-based health and wellness workshops to assist adults in actively managing chronic conditions and diseases, diabetes prevention, fall prevention, stress, and depression.

HEALTHCARE NAVIGATOR Healthcare enrollment assistance provides uninsured individuals with access and unbiased assistance when applying for or renewing healthcare plans through the Healthcare Marketplace.

Mission

Community Council of Greater Dallas provides leadership in moving individuals and families from surviving to thriving. We improve quality of life by alleviating poverty, fostering independence and wellness, and connecting people to the resources they need.

Needs

Historically, Community Council of Greater Dallas has received nearly all income from government sources through grants and contracts. However, a critical need to fill the gap between the highly restrictive government funding and the funding needed to fully address the community's most pressing needs remains.

Your investment fills the need for funds to ensure consistency, capacity, and expansion to serve our vulnerable, disadvantaged, and underserved neighbors in North Texas.
