Since Whole Foods Market first opened their doors in 1980, responsible sourcing, environmental stewardship, and community giving have been part of who they are and how they do business. Each quarter, the company contributes to nonprofit organizations in the communities surrounding their stores focusing on food access, environmental stewardship, or other closely related needs. In 2022 through their Community Giving program, Whole Foods Market donated $160,000 to 47 nonprofit organizations serving the North Texas community.
As the Food Security Sponsor, Whole Foods Market is proud to partner with NTX Giving Day again this year! Whole Foods Market is awarding donations to NTX Giving Day participants totaling $50,000 to help nourish the community and is promoting NTX Giving Day with customers in all 14 Dallas-Fort Worth stores. Additionally, Whole Foods Market is kicking off their contribution with a special donation to Minnie's Food Pantry through their Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program.
Five donations will be awarded to Food Securities Nonprofits in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton County through Whole Foods Market's Community Giving Program.
Whole Foods Market is kicking off the Giving Day season this year by donating a refrigerated van stuffed full of food to Minnie's Food Pantry, bringing fresh food to veterans, unhoused people, and senior citizens in North Texas. As part of Whole Foods Market’s Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program, each vehicle has the capacity to rescue over 10 million lbs. of food over its ten-year lifecycle, which equates to over 12 million meals.
