$25,000 Goal

Cassata is a private, nonprofit Catholic high school with an individualized instruction curriculum designed to serve students of all ages, faiths and financial backgrounds who wish to complete the requirements for their high school diploma or prepare for the GED. Cassata is located in Fort Worth and is open to students from across North Texas. Tuition is based on a sliding scale.

Cassata's academic model includes morning and afternoon sessions for those with scheduling constraints; small class sizes for personalized instruction; an individualized, self-paced curriculum for those who want to work at their own pace; and remedial English/math testing and classes if needed to ensure that all students have the proper foundation for high school learning.

Our students come to Cassata for a variety of reasons. Some are not challenged at their current school and seek an environment where they can reach their potential. Others must work to support their families or are suffering from health problems or anxiety issues. In the 2022-23 school year, 16% of Cassata's graduates were former dropouts, and 5% were raising children while going to school. There has also been an increase of students (41%) with learning differences. Though all Cassata students are required to pay some amount of tuition based on a sliding scale, 83% of students last year required some level of tuition assistance.

Regardless of why students come to Cassata, they leave with the tools to succeed. Dual credit courses are offered at Tarrant County College to qualified students free-of-charge. Last year, 70% of Cassata's graduates went on to post-secondary education, a trade school, joined the military or started an apprenticeship.

Our Needs

Cassata is most in need of funds for tuition assistance. Given the at-risk population of our students, Cassata never wants to turn a student away due to inability to pay the full tuition costs. This, however, requires substantial philanthropic support to keep our doors open to all students who need our school's unique, individualized academic model. While most private schools cover 90% or more of their operating costs through family-pay tuition, Cassata's tuition revenue covers less than 30% of our operating costs.

To fulfill our mission and serve our targeted student population, Cassata requires philanthropic contributions to help cover the gap between operating costs and tuition revenue through tuition assistance to students in need. Contributions from North Texas Giving Day donors help to bridge the financial gap, enabling Cassata to serve students regardless of their economic situations.
