Bright Lights Theatre serves families in the Dallas area. Most of our programming is located in North Dallas, but all are welcome. Our programming is geared toward students in PreK4-12th grade. Our summer camps include incoming preK4-8th grade students (with an opportunity for high schoolers to serve as camp counselors); our productions are available to 2nd-12th graders; and our masterclasses and workshops vary by topic. In every program, we train our students to pursue excellence in every aspect of theatre (including on-stage skills and technical theatre skills) and teach them how to see God's Big Story in every story we tell. This prepares them to see the gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere and be able to articulate those truths to their family, friends, co-workers, and possibly future cast mates.
This year, thanks to many members of our board of directors, we have $5,000 worth of matching grants! Every dollar donated up to $5,000 will automatically be doubled.
Bright Lights' has continued to see growth in numbers and support over the past year. By God's grace, the number of families we get to serve is increasing with every semester that passes. Our primary needs for this fiscal year are as follows:
1. PRODUCTION RIGHTS: The costs of licensing the right to perform a musical have increased over the past two years. It costs more than ever for us to produce four annual musicals. If donations are made towards the licensing, this allows us to use tuition dollars towards more tangible expenses that directly affect those students, such as microphone rentals, costumes, props, and show-week backstage supplies.
2. FACILITIES RENT: Your gifts are essential to keeping tuition costs low while still providing an excellent show experience for our young performers and the community that attends. We are so blessed to have church partners who allow us to use their facilities at a discounted rate, but we still need your help to cover the cost of rent during show weeks!
3. STAFF COMPENSATION: We desire to compensate our faithful theatrical and theological laborers for their expertise and hard work as they seek to disciple and train our students for God's glory and their good. The Lord has blessed us with many new directors this year, and we want to ensure they are able to continue sacrificing their time and using their talents to pour into our students and tell Christ-honoring stories.
All of these desires necessitate financial partners who are willing to GIVE GENEROUSLY and PRAY WITHOUT CEASING. Your prayers are coveted, and your gifts (no matter the size) will have a tremendous impact for good!
Bright Lights Theatre exists to train the next generation as masterful storytellers who share the light of Christ.
