The Foundation, established in 1996, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, led by a volunteer Board of Directors who have a sincere interest in the success of the students and staff of Birdville ISD. Since 2001, the Foundation has given $2,014,350 to over 900 BISD educators through the Innovative Teacher Grant Program. The Birdville Education Foundation awarded 53 grants totaling $116,000 for the 2020-2021 school year.

Every dollar raised through the Best for Birdville giving campaign is given directly to classrooms and deparments across the district through the Innovative Teacher Grant program. Grants fund innovative curriculum programming to meet the changing learning environment and demands of in-person and distance learning.
