ARTS on TAP, Inc., dba, Arts Fifth Avenue (A5A) is an alternative multi-discipline arts organization and was incorporated and received its 501(C)3 designation in 1992. Our Mission is to provide a forum of expression for dancers, choreographers, musicians, composers, and visual and performing artists; and to stimulate, develop and preserve interest in tap dance and jazz music and to educate the public, particularly youth, about these uniquely American art forms.
ARTS FIFTH AVENUE (A5A) maintains a full 12-month calendar of events. In 2024 we hosted over 65 events including small theatrical productions, dance performances, concerts & recitals, and more. This includes A5A's annual celebrations of National Tap Dance Day, our 3-night Django Reinhardt Festival (the only annual festival in the Southwest), A Jazzy Christmas, A Jazzy Valentine, annual Murder Mystery dinner theater fundraisers, free tap classes, annual tribute to Dallas musician James Clay, monthly Spoken Word events, performances by local musicians, staged readings and productions by local independent theatre groups (both non & for profit), master classes with national artists, artist exhibits, burlesque revues, and showcases for the works of the students in our home school programs.
This is all in addition to our regular schedule of weekly classes (30) offered September through May and our summer programming Our programming remains consistent but also flexible so we can provide affordable space for local, regional, state and national visual & performing artists, dancers/choreographers, musicians and composers to perform.
EQUIPMENT: Existing lighting and sound equipment systems are outdated and need upgrades or replacement. New or gently used refrigerator. Security camera for outside. Covering for outside stage. General art and office supplies.
STAFF: A5A needs a Facility/Events Manager and a dedicated Director of Development.
