The Red Cross is proud that an average of 90 cents of every dollar we spend is invested in delivering care and comfort to those in need.

Each year, the generous support of donors like you enables our disaster workforce— 90% volunteers—to help millions of people in the U.S.

Every day, American Red Cross provides compassionate care to those in need. We share our mission of preventing and alleviating suffering. We help members of the military and their families. We collect blood from generous donors. We teach lifesaving skills so our communities can be better prepared when the need arises.

Mission

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

Needs

- $50 provides a full day of food and shelter for 1 person

- $95 provides food, blankets and relief supplies for a family for 1 day

- $200 provides a full day of food and shelter to a family of 4

- $664 provides financial assistance for a family impacted by a home fire

- $1,176 provides food and shelter for a family for 7 days

- $3,900 covers the cost of 1 blood drive

- $10,600 is the cost to open a shelter for 1 night
