In 2025 alone, more than 1,200 youth came through our doors and accessed more than 30,000 services. Some came for a warm meal or a shower. Others needed clean clothes, access to technology, help continuing their education or support finding employment. Whatever brought them through the door, they found a welcoming place designed to meet them where they were and help them determine what comes next.
For a young person without stable housing, challenges that many of us take for granted can become significant barriers, from where to shower before school or a job interview to where to wash clothes, complete an assignment or simply spend time in a safe and welcoming environment. After8toEducate was created to help answer those questions.

At After8ToEducate, we meet young people experiencing homelessness where they are, providing warm meals, showers, clean clothes, education, job training, healthcare connections and caring support to help them build a more stable future.

After8toEducate ("After8") is a first-of-its-kind public-private collaborative to support unsheltered youth in Dallas, bringing together community resources to reduce the number of young adults experiencing homelessness and foster self-sufficiency.
After8toEducate offers an umbrella solution to allow unsheltered youth to develop academically, emotionally, and socially to ultimately live healthy and productive lives. In collaboration with the Dallas Independent School District, After8 provides a three-pillar program at the Fannie C. Harris Youth Center. This program addresses the needs of high school students experiencing housing insecurity in DISD.
After8toEducate’s mission is to provide high school students experiencing homelessness with a pathway out of homelessness and poverty. We recognize that poverty and housing instability disproportionately impact communities of color, which is why we are committed to creating equitable opportunities and access to resources for the youth we serve. We intentionally seek collaborative partners, programs, and initiatives that reflect the experiences, needs, and backgrounds of our youth and strengthen their ability to achieve long-term stability and success.
