It’s on, North Texas Friends!

This Giving Day, let’s show ’em how our hearts are Texas-sized. Together, we can make a big difference for Pyrs who need us most. 🩵

Every gift, every share, and every bit of support helps us rescue, heal, and find loving homes for Great Pyrenees across Texas. And with this year’s rising vet costs we need it more than perhaps ever before.

Let’s make this a big day for the floofs so we can keep intake open!

So Many Pyrs in Need: 40% More Intakes in 2026

The calls for help keep coming.

Pyrs are found wandering roadsides, sitting scared in shelters, or needing a safe place when families can no longer care for them.

We’re on pace to take in close to 500 dogs — a 40% increase. veterinary costs keep rising. Many of the Pyrs who come to us need complex surgeries, heartworm treatment, expensive care before they’re ready for a home.

Your generosity helps us keep saying yes, we can only do it with you.

That’s why this Giving Day, we’re raising funds for our Medical Emergency Fund — so we can act quickly when they needs us the most. 🩵

And on August 27 starting at midnight, donations are matched up to $100 while funds last, doubling your impact. The need is bigger this year.

Let’s show them Texas hearts are bigger too. 🩵

For 25 Years We’ve been Saving Pyrs in Texas

We’re a Texas volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to saving, healing, and rehoming Great Pyrenees and Pyrenees mixes across Texas.

Founded in 2001 with a handful of few volunteers and a couple neglected livestock guardian dogs, we’ve since then saved more than 6,500 dogs. We rescue pyrenees and their mixes from overcrowded shelters, unsafe environments, owner surrenders, abuse, and abandonment. Many arrive sick, injured, or simply out of time. We say yes anyway.

Each year, we rescue close to 400 dogs, serving communities across four regional chapters in Texas and coordinating transport nationwide — we’re committed to helping our dogs go where they have the best chance to thrive.

We operate as a 100% foster-based rescue. Every dog is placed in a carefully selected foster home, where they receive medical care, rehabilitation, socialization, and the time needed to decompress. This model allows us to truly understand each dog’s temperament, medical needs, and lifestyle fit before adoption, resulting in stronger matches and long-term success.

Because we commit to our dogs for life, every TGPR dog has a permanent safety net. If an adoption ever fails, the dog returns to us. No exceptions. No dogs are ever abandoned, rehomed privately, or left without support.

We rescue the dogs others overlook, invest in them fully, and stand by them always.
