Have you ever contemplated the impact of your support for the Stepping Stones Foundation during North Texas Giving Day?

This year your support means the difference between life and death for some of our homeless and at-risk youth.

A poignant testament to the impact of our work can be found in the story of one brave teen who reached out to our founder and shared, "If you had not answered that call, I would not be alive today." Today, that young woman is not only thriving but also giving back to her community. In the current year, your assistance assumes an even greater significance, as it can be the decisive factor between life and despair for many of our homeless and at-risk youth. As our supporters are aware, we find ourselves entrenched in a mental health crisis, as our youth clients grapple with the harrowing challenges of homelessness, abandonment, abuse, neglect, and trauma. Tragically, over the past few years, we have mourned the loss of some of these vulnerable adolescents to the scourge of suicide and addiction. It is because of this that we are resolute in our commitment to prevent the loss of one more child.

Therefore, our most significant need is funding for critical interventions, comprehensive counseling and therapy services, access to qualified psychiatrists, essential medications, and necessary hospitalizations. On a brighter note, we take pride in celebrating the remarkable successes achieved through our mental health counseling initiatives. We have witnessed college-bound teenagers who defied expectations by not only graduating high school but also pursuing higher education. We've supported a bipolar teen in finding the right medication regimen, enabling them to attend community college. Additionally, two adolescents who had withdrawn from school due to overwhelming trauma have been empowered to return and mend relationships with their parents.

Our organization stands as an unwavering pillar of support beside these resilient youth, dedicated to aiding them on their journey to healing, empowering them to make positive choices, and guiding them towards the transformative path they deserve. We deeply value any contributions toward our mission, as well as any additional funds that enable us to provide essential resources such as food, clothing, beds, and other necessities to those in dire need.

As the need for our services within the community continues to rise, so does our need for funds to provide vital youth services. With your generosity we will be able to say YES to so much more. To the single mom who had the water turned off that day or to the grandmother raising her grandkids who cannot afford to feed or clothe them, to the homeless teen living in their car that needs immediate food and gas to stay in school or the much needed trauma counseling so we don't lose another homeless teen to suicide.

Our goal is to provide the basic human necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing all the while helping to fulfill emotional needs such as significance, connection, and self-worth. Through our programming and support, these youth will gain confidence and learn the tools to become a self-sufficient, productive, healthy adults.

Stepping Stones Foundation works directly with intervention specialists in North Texas Schools who identify the most at-risk students who are in the "most desperate" of situations, such as homeless or "couch jumpers" as well as those that do not have daily food, proper clothing, weather appropriate shoes, medical care, etc. As soon as Stepping Stones Foundation becomes involved, we begin to triage the situation and determine their most critical needs. Once the urgent needs are met, we are then able to jointly design a strategy to successfully transition to an independent, healthy life and greatly reduce their potential for recidivating back into a state of homelessness.

We provide a myriad of supplies and services to assist the child to persist through their current situation and move forward so that they may THRIVE!
