$15,000 Goal

For 30 years Methodist Richardson Cancer Center has provided comprehensive and compassionate care close to home and to community members like Kathy Rogers. Her self-screening and access to leading 3D Mammography technology caught her cancer early and she is thriving as a result.

Be A Part of the Crucial First Steps of Cancer Screening

Cancers like breast, colorectal, lung, and skin are relatively easy to screen for but are often put aside for fear of the costs involved. When we can make cancer screenings easily accessible for our patients, we increase the chance for a healthy future.

We invite you to give in honor of a loved one, to support a friend, and to help reduce the devastating effects of undetected cancers.

Methodist Richardson Medical Center Foundation is an organization based on the spirit of compassion and care and is dedicated to ensuring that excellence continues at Methodist Richardson Medical Center. Our intent is to generate philanthropic support for our hospital that provides care for surrounding communities such as Richardson, Plano, North Dallas, Wylie, Sachse, Garland, and Murphy. The Foundation staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing close-to-home services to our community.

We are honored to steward a $5,000 match challenge by Clay and Suzy Harrison.
The Harrisons have made this gift in memory of both Clay’s parents and Suzy’s mother.  To receive the full match, we need to raise its equivalent.
We invite you to support this effort in celebration of a loved one’s life or the memory of a special relationship.

Needs

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in Texas. It is also one of the most curable cancers when detected early. A $190 mammogram is one of the best tools to detect breast cancer in early states.

A colonoscopy can reduce the risk of colorectal cancer by 40% to 69% and reduce the risk of death from the disease by 29% to 88%. Screenings average $2,750.

Lung cancer screenings average $458 and detect over half of the disease at an early stage when it is most curable.

Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the US with an estimated 98,000 new cases of melanoma are expected to be diagnosed in 2023. Early detection with a visual screening by a dermatologist significantly impact successful outcomes. Screenings cost about $125.
