Educational activities focus on traditional forms of Indian dancing that includes Bharata Natyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak and folk dance. Dance workshops and festivals in Dallas bring together artists, especially young artists, from around North America. ICHF actively supports young students through local school programs and more generally with facilities and financial aid to participate in the workshops. Performances by leading artists on tour in North America and local talent are keys to exposing audiences to the exciting world of Indian dance and music. ICHF jointly with Arathi School of Dance is engaged in education, conducting dance workshops and bringing to diverse American audiences performances by renowned dancers and musicians.
ICHF also is engaged in conducting yoga classes and workshops especially for seniors. The Yogercise exercise will assist senior citizen to cope with ailments such as rheumatoid arthritis, sleep disorders, sciatic pain and many other ailments associated with aging! This is an ongoing exercise class conducted throughout the year. This ancient form of discipline yoga and revered form of martial arts includes gentle kicks, stretches, jumps and twists performed in a particular sequence set to the music recorded as appropriate. The yoga routine is followed by relaxing sequence of movements ending with meditation will be taught to calm the nerves. The meditation is believed to help the participants relax, free of stress and help to focus.

Our Needs

Since its inception, the organization is actively involved in presentations at area schools, recreation centers, libraries and many other dance and music festivals in the Dallas metro area. The presentations also include demographics, culture and life styles in Indian subcontinent. The organization hosts annual dance and music programs and festivals, Yoga classes and workshops especially towards senior citizen are conducted through out the year in the metroplex area. The organization is always in need of additional funds primarily to support these programs.

Mission

Indian Cultural Heritage Foundation, a non-profit 501 C3 organization founded in 1995 aims to be the premier organization in North America to enhance awareness of and participation in Indian dance and music. The goal of ICHF is to enhance interaction and understanding between Indian and American cultures through its activities in dance and music.
