OUR PASSION AND PURPOSE

Our passion is oral health, and our purpose is to use dentistry as a platform to help those who are often overlooked, neglected, and unserved in any community.  Situated near downtown Garland, The Grace Center Texas treats the dental needs of those we serve and focuses on teaching our patients how proper oral hygiene promotes better overall physical health.  We compassionately minister hope by providing quality dental care free of charge to individuals who are actively receiving help from a partnering nonprofit organization that has a well-established recovery program for either alcohol or drug addiction, homelessness, or domestic violence and or abuse.  Our purpose is to encourage our patients to stay in their recovery program for its duration by relieving their dental pain which many have learned to live with for years and bring new smiles to their faces as they continue in their efforts to work hard to overcome their struggles and becoming self-supporting and contributing members of the community.

OUR DENTAL CLINIC'S IMPACT

At The Grace Center Texas, our dental professionals and staff diligently work to improve the oral health of each patient we treat and serve, at no cost to patients.   

Individuals we currently serve include:

1. Adults enrolled in an academic program that prepares school dropouts to either complete their GED or high school graduation requirements and equip them for the workforce and/or college;  

2. Men and women recently released from prison or treatment centers and were homeless who are now living in a warm and safe home environment that provides responsible guidance towards a better future;

3. Women and families who are victims of domestic violence and abuse and are participating in a program offering intervention, prevention services and counseling;

4. Single women with children experiencing homelessness who are living in a shelter where they find hope and the support needed to take the first steps toward getting their families back on their feet, their children back in school, and emotional and spiritual healing;

5.  Men and women in programs that provide transitional living, support services, and essential life skills for substance and drug abusers so they can embrace long-term sobriety and become working and self-supporting individuals of the community.

Our services include comprehensive oral exams, full mouth digital X-rays, dental cleanings, tooth-colored fillings, extractions of teeth, root canal treatment, crowns, partial dentures, and full dentures. Patients at The Grace Center Texas come from all stages of life, from very diverse backgrounds, and have been experiencing severe dental pain for many years.  They must be actively participating in a partnering nonprofit program, live either in Garland or in a surrounding community in Dallas County, have a household income level at or below the federal poverty level, and not have or be eligible to obtain private or state-funded dental insurance.  

HELP OUR PATIENTS BY DONATING TODAY!

We are growing quickly!  The number of new patients being seen at The Grace Center Texas has increased by 50% and the cost to continue treating our patients has increased as well.  We are excited we are able to HELP EVEN MORE PEOPLE because of this growth!  But the truth is that more patients being seen means we need to buy more dental supplies to meet their needs.  As with everything else, the cost of dental supplies has continued to go up by 15-20% compared to pre-Covid costs. 

We need your help!  Your donations will be used for the following:

(1) To purchase the necessary dental supplies our volunteer dental professionals greatly need to continue providing the quality dental treatment our patients need, AS WELL AS, 

(2) To pay for the cost of having a dental lab make replacement teeth (full dentures and partial dentures) for our patients.

OUR MOBILE DENTAL CLINIC

Our mobile dental clinic allows our volunteer dental staff to go into impoverished neighborhoods and communities throughout Dallas County as a collaboration and partnership with other local nonprofit organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
