At Global Tendo La Upendo Inc., we're all about spreading love and empowerment throughout our community. We don't just want people to get by; we want them to thrive. We achieve this through what we like to call "Acts of Love," which are at the heart of our educational and prison outreach programs, scholarships, and so much more.
Our Needs
Now, let's talk about what we need to keep these Acts of Love going strong. It's thanks to our amazing donors that the Global TLU team can make a real impact in our community. We focus on helping those who need to learn English as a Second Language (ESL) gain the skills they need for better job opportunities and a positive contribution to their community. We use a well-researched, holistic curriculum that ensures each participant receives the personalized support they need in a small, engaging, and student-centered environment.
Another unique initiative we host is our "Family Day" event in local prisons. It's not your typical prison visitation. Families get to interact with their loved ones (who happen to be offenders) through activities like games, storytime, family blessings, and more. These intentional visits create positive memories and reinforce the importance of family bonds.
To make all this happen, the ESL class materials, program registrations, and expenses for our "family day" event add up to just over $5,000. By partnering with our fundraising efforts, your gift can substantially reduce this cost. We're extending an invitation to YOU to join us in reaching our goal.
But that's not all. We've recently launched the first version of our educational web app for youth, available at www.keys2empower.org. This elementary version is designed to help young minds develop essential character-building skills that will make a real difference in their lives. We're not stopping here; we have big plans for the future. Funding will also go towards developing versions of our web app for Spanish speakers, middle schoolers, high schoolers, and incarcerated adults.
To bring this interactive and educational web app to as many young people aged 7-10 in the DFW metroplex as possible, we need to raise over $15,000. Here's some good news: We have a generous donor committed to matching up to $2,000. With your support, we're confident we can reach our goal.
The youth themselves are extending an invitation to YOU to help us meet their needs and make this highly beneficial web application a reality for them.
Thanks for considering our cause. Your support means the world to us.
