What does your gift mean for infants and toddlers in Texas?
$25 - Helps to provide training on coparenting to foster parents, enabling them to partner with the birth parent in providing a safe and emotionally supportive home.
$50 - Helps improve the quality of care one child receives from the adults in their life through a scholarship to First3Years professional development programming.
$100 - Supports mentoring sessions for early care professionals, home visitors, and parent educators.
$250 - Supports infant and toddler awareness campaigns, like Baby Day! The statewide celebration to raise awareness of the significant impact the early years have on later life outcomes and celebrate this exciting period of growth and brain development.
The first three years of life are an extraordinary and vital part of our children's growth and development. 85% of brain development happens by the time a child turns three years old.
First3Years nurtures early relational and mental health of infants and toddlers in Texas. Working in deep collaboration with caregivers, parents, and professionals statewide, we cultivate strong early childhood systems, educate our workforce, and advance best practices.
Our programs are designed to build awareness of the critical importance of the first three years of life, enhance the quality of relationships between infants/toddlers and their caregivers, and educate professionals in best practices.
During these first three years of life, the brain is making connections that will become the foundation for all other learning, health, and well-being. While genetics provides a foundation for early brain development, environmental influences play a critical role in supporting brain growth and health.
Our vision is that all infants and toddlers in TX spend their first three years in an ecosystem that supports the healthy development of their early mental and relational health.
We, First3Years, deliberately create an organization rooted in racial equity. We compassionately engage in open dialogue, that promotes inquiry, reflection, and connection. We will continue to provide opportunities for collaboration and community building that embrace shared power and collective decision making. We are committed to the process of addressing internal polices and practices that perpetuate racial inequity. We intentionally cultivate new learning opportunities that foster an atmosphere of trust, accountability, and transformation. We promote racial equity within our organization and through our partnerships in ways that support more racially equitable outcomes for children.
