The Ennis Public Theatre began in 2004 in a small theater on the edge of town. Since then we have moved to our new state-of-the-art theater in historical downtown Ennis. We have put on more than 100 productions over the years, and since moving to our new theater in 2017 we have gained a larger audience, attracted actors from all over the Dallas/Ft Worth area, and added children's theater classes. We continue to strive for excellence in everything we do, whether it is behind the scenes for our productions or in our box office providing the best customer relations in the south Dallas area. We have a board of directors that meets often and communicates continually with our Artistic Director and our Business Manager to improve and grow our theater family. Most importantly to our theater is our very dedicated volunteers, from our actors to our stage hands and beyond. We rely heavily on our volunteers to help create the magic that is Ennis Public Theater. Without them we would not exist, and could not continue to bring the best live entertainment to North Texas. We touch more than 1000 people a year through our performances, our Young Artists Program, and our volunteer opportunities.

Our Needs

EPT is having a wonderful 2023 Season! Our Young Artists Program sold out all six The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition shows. New artists are gracing the EPT stage. The new First Thursday Pay-What-You-Can ticket option encourages everyone to attend the theatre, regardless of income. There's been new and great things happening at every turn for the theatre in 2023, including classes and workshops for our Young Artists. And, now we are getting very excited for the 2024 Season lineup (that we'll be announcing soon).

Please consider supporting us as we continue to educate, entertain, and inspire our community! We have have big hopes of attracting more new artists, growing our next generation of young artists, and building a strong presence of theatre arts in our community. Theatre is so much more than actors on a stage, and we want to share our passion and love for the arts with as many community members as we can. Your gifts allow us to offer the opportunity for volunteer actors and technical staff to participate in our productions at no cost while learning important skills that will further their theatre experience.

We do what we do for you, our community, but we cannot do it without you.

Mission

In a spirit of benevolence, excellence, and integrity, to use our talents and the collective talents of those who serve with us to produce the highest quality live intimate theatre in the Southwest. To create an environment for performers that will foster growth and achievement, and to be a destination for many who would experience a stream of artistic life and vitality that will entertain, educate, encourage and inspire.

Needs

Each show costs us between $3,000 and $10,000 to produce. Your gift helps us pay for show licensing, scripts, sets, costumes, props, salaries, supplies.
