$20,000 Goal

The Children's Advocacy Center for Rockwall County provides direct service to children and their non-offending family members that have been victims of abuse. We serve children who have experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, domestic violence, or are witness to a violent crime. Our services include the review of statewide intake reports, case coordination, forensic interviews, family advocacy (to help families in the midst of crisis and transition), and trauma informed counseling.

All services are offered free of charge. Research from reported cases indicates that just one out of ten child victims will ever make an outcry about their abuse--this is often linked to the shame and guilt children carry with them. While we work collaboratively with our partners in law enforcement, the District Attorney's office, the Rockwall County SART, and the Department of Family Protective Services, to provide the best investigations, our goal is to help the children that walk through our doors begin a journey of hope and healing.

We have witnessed restoration through safety, justice, and healing. Our child-friendly environment minimizes anxiety for children that are often burdened with shame, guilt and fear linked to abuse. Collaboration with partner agencies has strengthened investigations in the County. And we are privileged to witness glimpses of hope being restored in a child's life as their engagement in mental health services allows for processing of trauma they have endured. Working together we help reach every child in our community that needs us, ensure they receive every service that is recommended for them, and make every effort to provide the highest quality of service available.

Mission

The Children's Advocacy Center for Rockwall County is an interagency, multi-disciplinary partnership dedicated to providing intervention, hope and healing for children and families affected by abuse, trauma, and violence, and to the prevention of child abuse through education and training.

Needs

It is critical that we raise funds for our operating costs to ensure we continue to provide quality services to victims of abuse and their family.

Equity Statement

We aim to provide every child that needs us every service recommended for them with every effort we can to help them healing from abuse.
