$5,000 Goal

Since 2015, the Alliance for a Brighter Community Foundation has tirelessly worked to address the needs of North Texas families and at-risk youth through its community service programs and scholarships. Last year, we supported 42 individual programs, performed 2332 hours of community service, and donated over $25,000 in our community.

We address community needs with programs in these targeted areas; Educational Enrichment, Health Promotion, Family Strengthening, Environmental Ownership, and Global Impact.

Our signature #CAP℠ (College Admissions Program) is designed to assist students in their efforts to enter college by providing a hands-on approach that includes all the steps from researching various colleges to actually completing the application process over a ten month period. In addition, annually we donate and distribute over 500 backpacks and related school supplies to students in need in our service areas, as well as have donated over $5,000 for the past few years through our scholarship program.

Through our Health Promotion program, we promote health awareness and prevention for Alzheimer's disease, Stroke, Breast Cancer, Nutrition and Wellness, and Mental Illness with free health seminars, free access to medical professionals, and free health screenings.

Our Building Your Economic Legacy programs emphasize financial planning, asset accumulation, and wealth building including savings and investments, managing debt, and improving credit.

We currently actively participate in a national initiative of supporting The Arts by exposing students to arts enrichment and culture by focusing on visual and performing arts and by showcasing talent through the exploration of writers, entertainers and various other artists.

Through our Global Impact program, we've implemented our Refugees in America Assistance Project providing development aid to help with youth hunger, immunization, clothing drives, and educational initiatives in Africa and Haiti.

Our Needs

Our main organizational needs are to raise funding to provide scholarships for North Texas students in need of financial support with a specific focus on students from disadvantaged backgrounds in Frisco, Denton, Little Elm, The Colony, and Prosper. Funding also supports other community organizations that we've partnered with, such as United Way of Denton County, Denton County Friends of The Family, American Heart Association, Frisco Fastpacs, Frisco Family Services, Little Elm Food Bank, Bethlehem Place Food Pantry and most recently Minnie's Food Pantry in Plano.

Mission

Our mission is to help build a coalition that empowers families and at-risk youth by providing assistance in education, health and wellness, economic literacy, environmental ownership, scholarships, and other resources to build a brighter community.

Needs

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help support our Mission of reducing childhood hunger, higher education and empowering familes
