The season of giving starts in September at Deaf Action Center, and we hope you'll join us by supporting our North Texas Giving Day fundraiser! 

Each year, DAC serves thousands of clients through our various programs. This year, we're giving you a look at each of the programs we run to help you find where your passion lies. For me, I'm passionate about communication access, which is a theme that's represented in so many of our programs:

• The Interpreting Department at DAC sources high-quality interpreters to make businesses and public spaces accessible for deaf and hard of hearing folks in DFW. 
• Our Access Specialists ensure that every deaf or hard of hearing client that walks through our doors leaves with a better understanding of their rights to access basic services in the language they prefer. 
• Our Technology Specialists work to train and connect people with the most up to date accessible technologies to promote clear communication. 
• We partner with the State of Texas to provide the Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP) so that our clients can apply for low-cost devices that enable them to contact emergency services when needed. 
• Our Senior Citizens' program provides a place for deaf and hard of hearing seniors to socialize with others in ASL to prevent isolation and promote healthy living.
• Most recently, we've established a Housing Navigation Program to provide information and emergency assistance to deaf and hard of hearing folks in the DFW area who need support navigating the complexities of the affordable housing system.
