Cumberland has a goal of $30,000 to support resident so they can heal, grow, and experience hope.

$1,000 goal

Most of you know I serve Cumberland Youth & Family Services. Each day we provide a safe place to call home for youth in foster care, young adults who have aged out of care and resilient, single-parent families.

You know the old adage that it takes a village? Well it truly does. I am asking that you consider making a gift during North Texas Giving Day. Our goal is to raise $30,000 to keep kids safe and families together.

When you make a gift, you are helping us to provide the big things like basic necessities of shelter, food and clothing. You are also helping us to equip residents with the supportive services like counseling and case management to heal from their trauma. But sometimes it's just the little things, the things that make our residents feel like everyone else. We call these things normalcy activities.

Each fall I look forward to some favorite traditions. And I know many of you do too. Your gift can also help support things like:

  • Teens in foster care being able to attend the Homecoming game and dance
  • Young adults aged out foster care being able to go with friends to a haunted house or Six Flags Fright Fest
  • Single-parent families being able to take the kids to a pumpkin patch and carve pumpkins

Please consider giving today or any day through September 21st. Help us in ways big and small.

Gratefully,

Courtney
