The Brown Girls Do Ballet® Scholarship and Grant program was created in 2013 to provide additional financial support to young dancers wishing to continue their training. The scholarships and grants are open to those seeking to develop further, both educationally and artistically. Scholarships and grants we currently offer are listed below.

  • The Brown Girls Do Ballet® Tiny Dancer Scholarship is full-year ballet tuition for young dancers and is only available to young girls aged 4-8. We know that the journey to Principal Ballerina begins with their very first class, and we hope that we can help spark the interest of a young girl who will one day lead a company.
  • The Brown Girls Do Ballet® Micro Grant Program is designed to increase access to and opportunity for education, travel, and professional tools for small dance programs and dancers of all ages year-round.
  • The Brown Girls Do Ballet® Small Studio Grant was initiated in 2013 as a call to action to assist in the development of ballerinas in smaller dance programs deserving of additional funding to aid in their programs. The annual Brown Girls Do Ballet® Small Studio Grant is currently a one-time grant, awarded to a small studio/school providing ballet classes to primarily underserved populations, based in the US.
  • The annual Brown Girls Do Ballet® Summer Intensive Scholarship is awarded to female dancers of color ages 9-18, who have registered for a summer intensive program. This scholarship is intended to cover additional costs associated with dance needs (such as pointe shoes, leotards, travel expenses, etc).
  • The Annual Brown Girls Do® College Scholarship is awarded to full-time, female undergraduate college students of color across any field of study.
