Angel, Waylon, and Abby (pictured in that order) came to us together in July.  They are all in their 20s.  Angel was sore and lame on her front left hoof and had some sunburn scabs on her face.  Waylon was very lame on his front right and had bloody scabs all down his spine from allergies, with the top of his tail also rubbed off.  His ribs were showing.  Abby had bumpy sores all over from being allergic to flies and other insects, and the top of her tail was rubbed off as well.

Waylon and Angel had been together for 20 years and are best buddies.  Abby had joined their herd a couple of years ago.  Abby and Waylon are both retired barrel horses.

Since coming to GRS, their health has improved!  Abby and Waylon have both had allergy tests and started some allergy shots (they were allergic to about half of the things that they were tested for!).  All three are on great grain and supplements to address their specific needs.  Angel and Waylon are getting anti-inflammatory meds and are much more comfortable.

Waylon is very sweet and likes to check your pockets for treats.  He's a love bug!  Angel talks to us at feeding time, giving us half of an eeee-awwww.  Abby is a little more independent but really loves people.  She has been ridden more recently and doesn't have any lameness or arthritis issues, so we are hopeful that she may become an intermediate lesson horse for us in the near future.

Follow us on Facebook to see lots of pics and videos of this little herd, and all of our animals.  They are a lot of fun!  They do not have any sponsorship, and our goal here is just to cover their costs.  Horses are expensive, and seniors more so.  We feed quality grain and all the right supplements for each horse.  These guys are on hoof supplements, omega supplements, allergy supplements, and their allergy meds and anti-inflammatories.  We adjust regularly to their needs!  They get their feet trimmed every 5 weeks.

Please help them have the best retirement life possible!
