We Equip At-Risk Girls to Combat Depression, Anxiety, and SI through Behavioral Health Management

"Ms. Cameka, you don't look like that happened to you."

As a behavior management counselor for Dallas county there were times I was compelled to let the girls I was blessed with counseling know that they were not alone. In these moments of sharing with them the story behind my scars that mirrored their wounds, for some, was the first time being exposed to see a path towards survival for a better life beyond their circumstances.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are traumatic events that happen in early childhood development during the ages of 0-17. In America, 61% of black children and 51% of Hispanic children have experienced at least one ACE, compared to 40% of white children. ACEs have also been directly associated to the rising rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation rates in at-risk girls.  I am a survivor of 9 of the 10 most common ACEs.

While working for the county I not only saw myself in the girls I counseled, I also understood their hopelessness. In spite of their reality, I was missioned with introducing them to a promising future.

FASTell Girl Model2Mentor Program is committed to transforming the lives of young girls who have experienced 2 or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) that have the potential of greatly impacting their transition into adulthood negatively. Our organization recognizes their potential but also identifies those barriers that interfere with them seeing and believing in their potential  due to their experiences with early childhood trauma.

To ensure these girls have ACCESS to a higher quality of life beyond their experiences, FASTell Girl Model2Mentor Program was developed to provide these girls with quality evidenced-based services and resources through our B.E.T System method: Behavior Management, Exposure/Environment through mentoring, and Tutoring in academic advisement.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 for our spring cycle 2024 to help sponsor ten (10) girls, purchase digital curriculum, and set-up cost for the organizations resale store BULLY Boutique. BULLY Boutique was uniquely developed to attract the FASHIONISTA in every young lady to be bold, powerful, and a statement maker for change.

BULLY is an empowering acronym to defeat depression in girls and young women. Depression rates have increased drastically in adolescent girls and even higher in minority girls. We believe by teaching our girls to BULLY Depression; By Unequivocally Learning & Loving Yourself we are equipping them with an essential component in battling those negative belief systems that took root from experiencing the ACEs of their story.

We believe in the power of transparency. Each dollar you donate is purposefully allocated, and its impact measured to show good stewardship over what we care about the most. Here's a detailed breakdown of how each dollar will be used and the performance goals associated with them:
