The Compass School of Texas is a private school in Dallas opening for 2023-2024 academic year serving PK4-2nd grade with plans to grow through 8th grade. 

The mission of The Compass School of Texas is to provide an engaging and wholesome academic foundation that fosters analytical and independent thinking. We value the partnership among families, educators, and students. Our educational approach instills the joy of learning through intentionally curated classrooms and natural environments. Compass students will have the opportunity to explore and discover through multi-disciplinary learning and authentic experiences.

The Compass School of Texas will stand by five core values which we believe are central to the education of an engaged and empowered child in partnership with families and their community. These values are community, family, leadership, purpose, and resilience. 

Compass offers a strong academic foundation with a focus on innovation and connection between curriculum and the real-world. We believe in inquiry-based learning and bringing real-world experiences into the classroom to help students draw connections between what they are learning and how they can impact the world.

The Compass School of Texas offers a strong core curriculum for each grade with a unique blend of the Reggio Emilia philosophy and project-based learning. Reggio Emilia is a child-centered approach to learning that finds the profound potential in every student. We define child-centered as valuing and respecting children’s thoughts, inquiries, and ideas. Teachers plan and design lessons by providing multiple lenses for each topic and guiding students to explore with creativity and imagination. Each student will have the opportunity to work in collaborative small groups with pedagogies and learning specialists to gain true comprehension of topics and high level thinking. The Reggio Emilia philosophy makes learning visual by documenting the educational journey and bringing families into the process of learning. We believe that analytical thinking is at the core of learning so we completely involve students in analyzing stories, solving problems, and hypothesizing the outcome of experiments.
