The United Nations initiated International Youth Day in August 2024. Dare to Dream Children’s Foundation was one of three non-profits honored in Dallas County Commissioners Court.  Your prayers and financial donations have enabled Dare to Dream to impact lives of very troubled youth and adults for almost 40 years.                                                                                                                                                                                                   In 2007 The Texas Governor's Lonestar Achievement Award was presented to Dare to Dream Founder, Jan Tennyson, who grew up in the foster care system in New York City.  Her life story She Dares to Dream is available at www.daretodream-dallas.org
In 2019 Dare to Dream was nominated as a finalist in the Dallas CEO Magazine's Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards held in partnership with Communities Foundation of Texas.

Our Needs

Funds for staff including an Executive Director and Administrative staff.  Technical support, Social media education, and new office machines - Lap Top computer, Printer with copying capabilities.

It is our desire to recruit more Volunteers to work with at-risk youth and donors to help sustain our programs and activities. Coaching youth and adults with good morals and values and a belief in God and Country will inspire others and make out world a better place.

Mission

To impact the lives of youngsters between the ages of ten and eighteen living in group homes, shelters, detention centers and orphanages; to help them recognize their potential and restore their hope, thereby enabling them to dream and trust again.

Programs are designed to meet the emotional and spiritual needs to help overcome drug and alcohol abuse, juvenile delinquency, and teen pregnancy, all of which causes child abuse, school dropouts, and sometimes suicide.

We provide education and ministry through group sessions with in "dream" settings with role model speaker and educators.

Many of our youth have been abused and neglected and do not have a father present in their lives.

We now also also serve the homeless and mentor men and women. to provide a loving home to their children. Through Zoom we are reaching students, parents, and leaders to collaborate strong programing for a resilient community.
