Our Mission 

The Cornerstone Community Development Corporation (CCDC), Inc., was established in 1996 to assist with improving the quality of life of the residents in the South Dallas/Fair Park community by providing services to assist them in breaking out of the cycle of poverty and empower individuals to move forward as contributing members of the community.  Our aim is to build stronger communities through impactful initiatives and sustainable development. We believe in fostering a sense of belonging, promoting economic growth, and providing opportunities that enhance the overall well-being of individuals and families.

At the CCDC, our vision is to be a beacon of holistic community development, fostering positive change in the South Dallas/Fair Park area. Our vision goes beyond buildings; it encompasses the empowerment and transformation of individuals and the community as a whole. Together, we are building a foundation for a brighter, more inclusive, and spiritually enriched future in South Dallas.

Throughout the years we've established several programs in the community which helps and continues to make the community livable for residents on a weekly basis.  The list below gives a brief synopsis of those programs provided to residents who live in the community as we continue to strive to meet the needs of the people.

Programs 

By participating in North Texas Giving Day, you will be a part of a unique giving opportunity, to help us reach and or exceed our $75,000 goal, making it possible for us to continue to provide impactful services and programs to residents in the South Dallas/Fair Park community.  Every gift made on North Texas Giving Day goes even further!

CCDC Inc., provides the following programs and activities to help accomplish our mission in the community:

* Cornerstone Community Kitchen - Provides meals to our homeless neighbors and local community five days a week.  Volunteers are most needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. An estimated 10,000 meals are served a month to homeless individuals. 

* Clothing Closet and Shower Complex - Provides the homeless and disadvantage access to clean clothing, hot shower and toiletries weekly. Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

* Enrichment Programs 

- After School Program - Provides one on one tutoring and other assistance for community children weekly.

- Summer Day Camp Children - Provides tutoring (reading and math) STEM and other learning activities for community children during the summer months. 

- Summer Teen Camp - Provides enriching environment rooted in academic support, cultural identity formation, leadership development, and entrepreneurship training. 

* Cornerstone Community Laundromat - Provides a safe place where residents and our homeless neighbors can access affordable laundry care and use free internet.

* Cornerstone Group Lifestyle Balance Program - Provides education, encouragement and tools to help individuals reach their healthy lifestyle goals. Designed for adults who are at risk for developing diabetes. 

 * South Point Market - Provides access to healthy, and low-cost food and other items in a convenience store in the community.    

 * Cornerstone Community Garden - The Cornerstone Community Garden provides a true example for the soil to table movement for urban gardening in a food desert in South Dallas. We offer healthy food choices of fresh vegetables and fruit at our community market, Southpoint Market at affordable prices. 

 * Cornerstone Medical Clinic - Provides free medical services to residents and our homeless neighbors in the community.

* Development and Revitalization of Affordable Housing and Buildings - Provides affordable housing, real estate acquisition and development that fosters stable and thriving neighborhoods.

In addition, there are various opportunities to volunteer, and provide in-kind services, or donations.
