We like to think we are making a difference - making sure our dogs are spayed and neutered and given all the medical care needed in order to find them their forever loving homes. We are a no-kill shelter, and we rescue from various kill shelters, therefore saving many a dog's life. And we feel we are making a difference in people's lives who want loving dogs in their homes. Our community gives us a tremendous amount of support and is so good to us. But we have people from all over Texas and even other states donate to us and also come to our Shelter to adopt.
Continuous maintenance of the Shelter's grounds, kennels, etc. Also need supplies of various dog and puppy food for the many puppies and adult dogs we house. We also need a lot of bleach which says "Disinfecting" - we go through 3 or 4 gallons a day. And we need funds for spaying and neutering the dogs in our care, before they get adopted, and funds are needed for the various medical issues that arise. We want our dogs and puppies to be as healthy as they can be.
The "Friends for Animals" Adoption Shelter is committed to the prevention of animal suffering and overpopulation through public education, an aggressive spay/neuter program, and the adoption of shelter pets to appropriate homes.
