$25,000 Goal

The mission of Texas Sporting Breed Rescue, Inc. (TSBR) began with a dream - that we could see a no-kill society in our lifetime and that one of the most prominent hunting and outdoor enthusiasts states in the US would embrace its Sporting Breeds and support our efforts in saving them.

With this mission carried in the hearts of each volunteer and supporter of TSBR, we have passionately challenged ourselves to do “rescue” differently. The result is the core values that drive our decisions and move us forward. These values are more than words; they are the tenants we, as an organization, collectively and individually, strive for daily as we interact with our communities and the dogs we all love.

The “Heart” of TSBR is quite literally the foundation of our organization, its structure, and its mission:

Hope // Education // Advocacy // Rescue // Training

Our journey, from inception to day-to-day operations, weaves like a folk story or beautiful hand-sewn quilt. Each square is a tale: some beautiful, some funny, some awe-inspiring, some joyous, some haunting, some pensive, but all meaningful and motivating.

Mission

The mission of Texas Sporting Breed Rescue, Inc. (TSBR) is to provide for the welfare, shelter, and adoption of lost, abandoned, neglected, or homeless dogs and puppies, specifically; The American Kennel Club (AKC) 32 defined sporting group breeds - Retrievers, Setters, Pointers, Spaniels, Vizslas, Weimaraners, and Spinone Italianos; to promote the responsible care of companion animals, to actively promote spaying and neutering as the most humane means of animal control; to support heartworm education and treatment; and to provide training and education to the public related to topics such as animal welfare, responsible dog ownership, and breed information.

Save A Life...Retrieve A Friend

Needs

Veterinary care for the dogs in our rescue program is our single largest expense. On average, TSBR spends over $500 on vetting care for each dog that comes into the program. With adoption fees ranging from $200-$500, donations are necessary to make up the difference and continue rescuing sporting breeds in need.

Your contribution of any size is so valuable! $25 could treat an upper respiratory infection $300 could provide treat a dog for heartworms $2,000 could treat a puppy for parvo $3,000 could mend a broken leg.

Through your support, TSBR is changing lives every day, and North Texas Giving Day helps us continue our mission of saving lives.
