The Telos Project (TTP), founded in 2016, is committed to expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based mental health services for individuals, families, and couples of all ages across Texas. Stigma, financial hardship, and statewide provider shortages continue to limit access to essential care. To reduce these barriers, TTP accepts most commercial insurance plans, as well as Medicaid, Medicare, and Tricare.

In 2025, TTP supported 2,047 clients, with approximately 36% uninsured or underinsured. So far this year, we have served 1,487 clients, with about 30% facing similar financial barriers. Although many individuals complete an intake appointment, only a minority continue into ongoing therapeutic services. While the specific reasons vary and are not always known, this pattern reveals a critical gap in the continuum of care. Donor support enables TTP to reduce barriers and expand access to affordable care, ensuring that more clients move beyond intake and into therapeutic services that make a lasting difference.

This North Texas Giving Day cycle is especially important to TTP. We have been generously selected to receive The Morris Foundation's 2026 Matching Grant. What this means is that the first $5,000 donated to TTP will be matched dollar-for-dollar by The Morris Foundation! Giving now will help us unlock every available matching dollar. Thank you for your consideration and donations!

Therapeutic Services

Individual, Family, Couples, and Play Therapy: TTP offers a variety of outpatient clinical counseling/therapy services for individuals as young as 3 years old. Depending on the individual's age and other important contexts, services can be conducted at our Fort Worth office or virtually, via a HIPAA-compliant platform. Our clinical team consists of highly trained professionals with expertise in therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, TBRI, EMDR, TF-CBT, and play therapy. In 2025, TTP helped nearly 890 therapy clients. So far this year, our clinicians have seen about 725 clients.

Psychological Assessment: TTP provides comprehensive psychological assessments for individuals as young as 18 months old. We use clinical interviews, standardized tests, objective measures, consultation, and records review to clarify accurate diagnoses and create targeted, individualized treatment plans for support in the home, school, and/or work. In 2025, TTP saw just over 510 different clients for assessment. With the addition of new testing clinicians and the support of generous donors, we have already surpassed this number in 2026, seeing over 550 clients so far!

Tabletop Role-Play Game (TTRPG) Therapy Group: TTP brings a unique spin to social skills groups by utilizing a TTRPG group led by a licensed clinician. We offer targeted groups for middle school students, high school students, young adults (ages 18-25), and adults (ages 25+) who, for example, struggle with social skills, social anxiety, impulse control, and other related difficulties. In 2025, we supported nearly 30 group therapy clients. We have retained a similar number in 2026, with about 25 clients thus far.

Education

TTP maintains a comprehensive Family Education Library of mental health-related books and resources in our waiting room that our clients and their families can browse. Our goal is to obtain a wide variety of books to rotate each month, based on a related mental health topic, such as resources during April being focused on National Autism Awareness Month.

Access to mental health care relies on having skilled professionals available to provide it. TTP is dedicated to mentoring master's level and doctoral-level students and maintaining the continuing education of our seasoned, licensed clinicians through Clinician Education

Giving Activity

Mission

The Telos Project's mission is to remove barriers to care and provide high-quality mental health services for individuals and families of all ages throughout Texas.

Needs

Therapy/Counseling

Mental health concerns continue to rise every year. Texas ranks 45th in the nation for access to mental health care, reflecting significant barriers, such as provider shortages and affordability issues. Your gifts can help bridge the gap between what an individual can pay and what TTP can offer as a self-pay rate. Your donations additionally support the costs of maintaining therapeutic services, such as play therapy materials, therapeutic resources, and improvements to our sensory-friendly clinical spaces.

Psychological Assessment

This costly but necessary intervention gives our clients something that everyday observation, conversation, or intuition simply cannot provide: Objective, structured, evidence-based information about how a person thinks, learns, feels, and functions. Your generous support allows TTP to help cover the prohibitive cost of testing for individuals in need.

TTRPG Group Therapy

Storytelling, gameplay, character development, teamwork, communication, and creative problem-solving. These are the roots of our TTRPG Therapy Group at TTP. Sadly, insurance rarely covers the cost of group therapy. Thus, supporting TTP provides funding toward scholarships for those without insurance, so that no one is turned away from the chance to roll the dice on a better future.

Education

Education is a valuable tool for understanding ourselves and others. TTP is dedicated to supporting the education of our clients and their support system, including their TTP mental health providers. TTP maintains a wide range of client-friendly resources, mentors aspiring clinicians, and creates a curious and trauma-informed environment of learning for our licensed clinicians. Your donations help to maintain our extensive resource library and supplement the costs of expensive, targeted trainings focused on the individuals we serve, such as the ADOS-2, EMDR, and DBT.
