Our Preschool is turning 75!

The Dallas Cooperative Preschool has been a beloved part of the North Dallas community for three quarters of a century — outlasting trends, surviving hard years, and continuing to serve families because of people exactly like you. 

We are asking you to help us make it 75 more!

Why we love the Dallas Co-Op

This past spring, started at The Dallas Cooperative Preschool — and we are so glad we found this place. 

The Dallas Co-Op drew us in because it immediately reminded me of when I went to school as a younger kid. We had toured so many schools previously and they all just felt cold and off putting. John Henry would be stuck on my leg but at the Co-Op, he immediately went and found friends to play with on the playground at the tour. We all felt so welcomed by EVERYONE, and John Henry told me, "It's okay mom, you can leave me here. I love you, have a good day!" After that I just knew this was the right place for us!

The Co-Op has been around since 1951

For 75 years, they have kept their enrollment small — about 30 students — and their tuition among the most affordable of any comparable preschool in Dallas. 

The only way that's possible is through the generosity of people like you. 

Donations like yours directly fund what tuition alone can't cover.

Your donation will go toward things like:

• Investing in new playground equipment
• Teaching materials and enrichment programs
• Student outings to learn more about our community
• Restocking classroom supplies and materials
• Maintaining a safe, welcoming space for our kids

Every single contribution helps, no matter how big or how small.

The teachers are extraordinary.

One of the things we love the most is how passionate the teachers are at the Co-Op. 

The Director and lead teacher, Miss Jill, has been at the Co-Op for 20 years! 

Many of the teachers have had children of their own attend and one of the teachers, Miss Maggie, was a student herself!

Ms. Megan has truly been one of the most amazing teachers we have ever had! She is so incredibly kind, caring, thoughtful, loving and so much more to all her students! She makes sure she meets all the kiddos where they are at and we couldn't be more grateful to have her at the Co-Op! 

The passion and consistency of this staff is something we didn't expect and now can't imagine being without.

The Co-Op is more like a family. 

What makes our school unique is the cooperative model: families are active partners in the classroom and in running the school. 

Parents come in everyday to support teachers, share their talents, and spend real time with the kids. It's real work — but it builds real community and deepens friendships in a way that no other preschool experience we've seen can match.

Every child gets their moment.

Once a month, each student has their own Serving Day — a special day when they get to lead the class. 

They bring something for show and tell, fill out the chart of the day, and help set the table for snack time. 

John Henry was so incredibly excited to do his serving day! He got to show us all of the fun activities he gets to do with his teachers and friends everyday and we got to see the confidence in him where he got to lead the whole class that morning!

He loved getting to bring a show and tell item and shared his love for construction by bringing his crane truck to show the class!

It's one of the best mornings of the year for us as parents.

The whole family is welcome!

Siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles — everyone is invited on Serving Day. 

Mom, Dad, and little brother Walker James got to join big brother John Henry for serving day! John Henry can't wait to bring littlest brother tate along this year!

It's a morning your whole family will talk about long after it's over.
