At first glance, The Quispicanchi Project may seem like an unusual participant in North Texas Giving Day. While we are a North Texas-based nonprofit, our work takes place thousands of miles away in the rural communities of Quispicanchi, Peru, where we partner with vulnerable women, children, and families to create pathways toward health, opportunity, and hope.
So why does this matter to North Texas?

Every gift helps sustain the year-round partnerships that provide life-changing—and often life-saving—support to families in Quispicanchi. Those same trusted relationships also create a rare opportunity for young people from North Texas to step into a different way of seeing the world through our Encuentro Retreat Program.
Encuentro is not a mission trip built around a one-week experience. It is an invitation into relationships that have been cultivated over years of faithful partnership with the communities of Quispicanchi. Students are welcomed into homes, schools, and communities not as tourists or saviors, but as learners and companions. They return home with a deeper understanding of global citizenship, greater cultural humility, and a renewed commitment to serving their own neighbors with compassion and purpose.
